Hello and welcome!   This site is dedicated to educating the public on current health related issues for their companion animals.   In today's fast pace world, it is very difficult to stay on top of all the new discoveries and changes regarding our pet's well-being.   Information is passed from person to person, from generation to generation, but is it really accurate?

Please take the information you read here and do more research on it.   Become informed, and then you as a responsible pet owner, can choose what is best for your pet. Remember that each animal is an individual and should be treated accordingly.

Throughout this site you will see pictures of some of my companion animals.   All were rescues and in need of a forever home.   They will never have to worry about being hungry, abandon, or hurt again.   But what about all the other homeless animals?

There are so many companion animals in need of homes today.   Many are euthanized daily at local animal shelters, simply because there is no room to house them all.   The Humane Society of the United States estimates that there are over 70,000 puppies and kittens born every twenty-four hours.   This is about seven animals to every human born. They also estimate that over 8 millions kitten, cats, puppies and dogs are euthanized each year at local shelters.   That number is growing daily.   It is impossible to ensure that every one will fine a good home.   These however are the lucky ones.   Many more are abandon on the streets and die due to cruelty, starvation, disease, poisoning or accidents.

Did you know that one female cat and her offsprings can be responsible for producing over 420,000 cats in a seven year period.   One female dog and her offsprings can be responsible for producing 67,000 dogs in a six year period.   To me, those numbers are mind-boggling.   Is there any wonder so many are being euthanized?

Take the first step.   Spay or neuter surgery carries a one-time cost, that is relatively small when one considers the benefits.   It is a small price to pay for the health of your pet and the prevention of more unwanted animals.

Please, please don't let Muffin or Kitty breed because it's a miracle of birth that every child should see, they could care less.   Or Muffin is just such a wonderful dog and I know her puppies will be too.   There are thousands of wonderful cats and dogs just sitting on death's door in all the animal shelters across America.   There are hundreds of pregnant cats sitting in animals shelter during kitten season. They are just waiting for foster homes to help care for them and their babies, until the kittens are old enough to be adopted.   BE A FOSTER HOME.

Pet overpopulation is a serious problem, but a problem that can be solved if we all work together.   Be a part of the solution and educate yourself as well as your family and friends, on what you can do to help.

You can make a difference.

Please spay and neuter your pets.
